Terms of Service
By accessing or using Money Palava (the "Service"), you ("user", "you") agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") with Davanji Ltd, the operator of Money Palava ("Davanji", "we", "us", "our"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Plain-English summary: Money Palava is a budgeting tool, not a financial advisor. We don't give you investment, legal or tax advice. We're not liable for any decisions you make based on the app. You're responsible for your own money. Read the full terms below before signing up.
1. The service
Money Palava is a personal finance management web application that provides budgeting, expense tracking, goal setting and debt payoff planning tools. We are a software tool, not a regulated financial services provider. We do not:
- Provide regulated financial advice, investment advice, tax advice or legal advice;
- Hold, custody, transfer or process your money (Stripe handles payments);
- Connect to your bank accounts or process transactions on your behalf;
- Act as a broker, lender, payment institution or financial intermediary of any kind.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and enabling two-factor authentication where offered.
- You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including the actions of anyone you give access to.
- You must provide accurate, current information and update it as needed.
- You must notify us immediately at security@moneypalava.com of any unauthorised access.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including money laundering, fraud or tax evasion;
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, decompile or interfere with the Service;
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service without our written permission;
- Resell, redistribute or commercialise the Service without written permission;
- Upload malicious code, attempt to compromise other users, or test the security of our systems without written authorisation;
- Use the Service to store, transmit or process data you do not have lawful authority to handle.
4. Subscriptions and billing
- The Free plan is genuinely free with no time limit.
- Paid plans (Pro, Family) are billed monthly or annually via Stripe.
- You can cancel at any time from Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- We offer a 30-day refund window for annual plans, no questions asked. After 30 days, no refunds are given for unused time.
- Prices may change with 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers keep their current price for the remainder of any prepaid period.
- Failed payments may result in service suspension. We will attempt to notify you before suspension.
5. Your data
You retain full ownership of all data you enter into Money Palava. We process it on your behalf only to provide the Service. See our Privacy Policy for full details. You can export your data as CSV at any time and delete your account permanently from Settings.
6. Intellectual property
The Money Palava software, design, branding, logos, content and trade marks are owned by Davanji Ltd or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, redistribute, reverse-engineer or create derivative works without express written permission. The blog content is provided for educational purposes; you may share short excerpts with attribution and a link back to the original.
7. No financial, investment, legal or tax advice
Money Palava is an informational tool only. Nothing in the Service — including the dashboard figures, projections, loan calculators, blog articles, weekly AI check-ins, debt payoff simulations, or any other feature — constitutes:
- Financial advice or a recommendation to take any financial action;
- Investment advice or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any security, currency, cryptocurrency, asset or financial product;
- Legal advice in any jurisdiction;
- Tax advice or a tax position you may rely on;
- An offer or solicitation to provide regulated financial services;
- Mortgage advice, debt-counselling advice or insurance advice.
All content, calculations and AI-generated insights are provided for general informational and educational purposes only. You should consult a qualified independent financial advisor, accountant, solicitor or tax professional licensed in your jurisdiction before making any financial decision based on information from the Service. We do not endorse any third-party financial products, banks, lenders, brokers, exchanges or providers mentioned in blog posts or AI-generated content.
8. Risk disclosure
Personal finance, saving, investing, borrowing, remitting money and currency exchange all involve risk, including the potential loss of principal. You acknowledge and accept that:
- The value of investments, currencies and assets can go up or down, and you may lose all or part of any money invested;
- Past performance is not indicative of future results. Any historical figures, returns, projections or simulations shown by the Service are illustrative only and do not guarantee future outcomes;
- Exchange rates, interest rates, inflation and market conditions can change rapidly and unpredictably;
- Property values, including in your home country, can decrease as well as increase;
- Sending money internationally carries risks including fraud, delays, exchange-rate loss and counterparty failure;
- The Service's loan and debt simulators use simplified assumptions and may not reflect your actual loan terms, fees, penalties or compounding;
- AI-generated content (such as the Weekly Check-In) may occasionally contain errors, omissions or inappropriate suggestions. You should not act on AI output without independent verification.
9. Accuracy and timeliness
While we make reasonable efforts to provide accurate, current information:
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, reliability, currency or timeliness of any data, exchange rates, interest rates, blog content, AI output or any other information displayed in the Service;
- Exchange rates, financial product details and regulatory information change frequently and may be out-of-date by the time you view them;
- Calculations performed by the Service (budgets, debt payoff dates, loan projections) are estimates based on the data you enter and the assumptions we use; actual results will differ;
- We are not liable for errors, omissions or delays in the Service or for any decisions you take in reliance on Service content.
You are solely responsible for verifying any information before acting on it.
10. Data privacy and security
We collect and process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy. We aim to comply with applicable data-protection laws, including the UK GDPR, EU GDPR and (where applicable) the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Specifically:
- Your data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3);
- Access to your data is enforced at the database level through row-level security policies;
- We do not store full payment card details — Stripe processes all payments and is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified;
- You are responsible for the security of your own login credentials, devices and account access. Compromise of your password or device may give a third party access to your data, and we cannot be held liable for the consequences of such compromise;
- We strongly encourage you to enable two-factor authentication (Settings → Data & Security).
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement;
- Davanji Ltd shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive or exemplary damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of savings, loss of data, loss of investment value, currency-exchange losses, missed financial opportunities, or any damages arising from your reliance on Service content;
- Davanji Ltd's total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from or relating to the Service, regardless of cause, shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or £100 GBP, whichever is greater;
- Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
12. User responsibility
You acknowledge and agree that:
- You are solely responsible for all financial decisions, transactions, transfers and actions you take, whether or not informed by the Service;
- You are responsible for verifying all calculations, projections and information before acting on them;
- You are responsible for keeping your account secure, including your password, recovery options and two-factor authentication;
- You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the data you enter into the Service — incorrect inputs lead to incorrect outputs;
- You are responsible for verifying any third-party financial transactions, remittances or trades you make; the Service does not execute, verify or guarantee any external transaction;
- You are responsible for complying with all laws applicable to you, including tax filing, anti-money-laundering, sanctions and currency-control regulations in your country of residence and any country you transact with.
13. Third-party services
The Service integrates with third-party providers (Supabase for data storage, Stripe for payments, Resend for email, Anthropic for AI digests). We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, security or content of these third-party services. Your use of those services is subject to their respective terms.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Davanji Ltd, its directors, employees, contractors and agents from any claim, loss, damage, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, your violation of any law, or your infringement of any third-party right.
15. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time from Settings. We may terminate or suspend access if you breach these Terms, fail to pay subscription fees, or use the Service in a way that creates risk for us or other users. We will provide reasonable notice except in cases of serious breach or where notice is impracticable.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be notified by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after notification means acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence under applicable consumer law.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full effect.
